Namita Thapar, a businesswoman, and judge on Shak Tank India have some advice for professionals who don’t enjoy their jobs. Thapar advised, “Don’t accept mediocrity; think about finding a new career.”
The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals has questioned why we spend the majority of our lives working jobs we don’t enjoy. If you don’t love your work and have the Monday blues, it may be time to find a new one. She tweeted, “Why spend 80% of your life doing something you’re not utterly enthusiastic about?
Such employment does exist, but we prefer to remain in our comfort zones and don’t look hard enough for it. Thapar advised readers not to accept mediocrity in life.
Thapar responded when a Twitter user asked if she ever experienced the Monday blues: “At Emcure, I’ve never experienced Monday blues. I actually look forward to going to work because I love what I do and fully embody the saying, “Create a (work) life you don’t need a vacation from.” We came to work every single day throughout the pandemic.”
