There’s a good likelihood that I’m not sure of what I’m doing at this moment. Prajakta Koli I’m trying not to grow boring by occasionally listening to my team and occasionally following my instincts.
Prajakta Koli never considered working as a content producer. She actually had a childhood dream of being a radio jockey. Therefore, YouTube wasn’t even considered. She was certain that she would become a radio personality as she grew up. But when self-awareness set in, she realized she wasn’t cut out for it. She then began producing stuff on YouTube at that point. “Since it was something I wasn’t expecting, I feel like it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I entered it utterly unprepared, and I’m so glad I made the decision I did’ Koli explains. She claims that the choice she made in February 2015 has changed her life.
Koli says of her interaction with the audience:
“The audience on the internet is very honest, which is a wonderful thing. They will be very clear about what they enjoy, don’t like, want to see, and don’t want to see. And I believe that reaching a point where what your audience wants to see and what you enjoy producing meet is simple if you interact with them, communicate to them, and listen to what they have to say.”
She recognized she had greater attention and engagement during the lockdown when people were spending more time online, so she set out to increase viewership and alter consumption. According to her, as more creators emerge, the platforms grew bigger.
She admits to having periods of uncertainty and states, “There’s a good probability I don’t know what I’m doing right now. I make an effort to occasionally listen to my intuition and occasionally listen to my team in order to avoid being repetitive.
She began experiencing creative difficulties three or four years ago as a creative person. She explains, “In 2017, I believed that the only way to overcome a barrier was to close my channel and pursue a different line of work. However, I ultimately understood that it’s quite natural. The fact that I continued to produce stuff was one of the things that sort of got me through and is something I kind of rely on constantly.
Consistency, in my opinion, is desirable. Some artists like to go back, collect their ideas, and then come back more powerful. I won’t be able to rejoin the game if I do that to my thoughts.”
Prajakta Koli and her Career Moves
One of the major moves she made as a content producer was letting her guard down through extensive planning, total command, and knowing what she would be doing today and in five years. She has days where she only edits, shoots, and writes, and days where she only attends meetings. “I think that’s my favorite aspect about my job because not one day looks like another and the fact that I can come up to work in pajamas and nobody says anything,” she said. She is currently keeping all options open with OTT and Bollywood.
