Automotive giant Mercedes has announced that it will launch the electric model G-Wagon in 2024. The company’s chairman Ola Källenius said this during a meeting with media people on Friday. He also informed that he test drove the prototype of an electric model of SUV in Graz, Austria.
Early Stage Planning Of G-Wagon:
The plans are at an early stage and the company has not disclosed many details about them. Mercedes hasn’t revealed any estimates for range, battery size, or power output. It is to be noted that the company unveiled the concept version of the electric SUV in 2021 but did not divulge any further details on the production plan. The 2021 concept version of the SUV was assumed as more of a design exercise.
Like Mercedes other models the SUV is expected to be a luxury vehicle and should be loaded with similar features Mercedes is known for. After the launch, it will compete with other electric vehicle that can handle rough terrains, like GMC Hummer EV truck and SUV, Rivian R1T and R1S, Chevy Silverado EV, and Ford F-150 Lightning.
Mercedes AMG C-63:
Besides this, the company has also unveiled a high-performance AMG version of the W206 C-Class. Also known as Mercedes AMG C-63 S E AMG C-63, it is equipped with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is supposed to be the most powerful engine present in any car across the world. The company revealed that the saloon and estate version of the new C 63 can accelerate from standstill to 100kmph in less than 4 seconds, before topping out at the maximum speed of 280kmph.
It will be available in both Sedan and estate forms. the high-performance car also has an all-electric range of 13 km. It has 8 driving modes Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, Race, Slippery, and individual.

The company also announced that it will go completely electric by 2030, It has already committed $47 billion for this effort.
